My name is Ed Helm.
I am a Progressive, and I am running for Mayor of
St. Petersburg, Florida.
Welcome! Please explore our website. If you have
ideas, concerns, and are ready for new leadership
in St. Petersburg, please use this website to
communicate with me and learn how you can help.
You can also call me at (727) 821-9056 or visit our
campaign headquarters at
3914 - 6th Street South
near the entranceway to Coquina Key in St. Petersburg.
As a Federal civil rights lawyer for about 25 years,
I have dedicated my life to fairness and opportunity
for all. I believe in public service and strive
to live it.
I want to be your mayor to serve you as a servant leader,
responsive to you, my fellow neighbors of St. Petersburg.
I don’t pretend to have all the answers,
but I was a leader in the effort to enable our citizens
to change our city charter in 1993 (which we did) to
"strong mayor" because I knew we would be a better city
when the voices of all our citizens are invited to speak,
listened to, and respected.
Your voice is also your vote. On curbside recycling,
for example, your voice has been ignored by the present
Mayor and City Council--but not by me. I have heard
you.
I am your referendum on that issue--if you want curbside
recycling in St. Petersburg, you will get it by voting
for and electing me.
I ask for your support and for your vote, on Tuesday,
November 8.
Together, let's make St Petersburg a Progressive city
once again--a place where people want to live and visit.
